New Version of Learn Arabic Alphabet Website Launched!

We would like to announce that our new website is now officially live :)

We will be adding more pages and Arabic learning material this week coming. I’m really excited about it all. I’ll be updating the Learn Arabic Alphabet tool with better audio and better transliteration, which more in accordance to fus’ha, rather than the Egyptian dialect. I got the recording done today by an Arabic teacher!

I have another surprise in store for you guys, which will be more of an extension to the Learn Arabic Alphabet tool (I would call it the Learn Arabic Alphabet Tutorial ;) ). But more about that one later…

5 Tips on How to Learn Arabic

As the world becomes a smaller place, learning Arabic as a foreign language becomes an increasingly important decision. Even though everyone decides to learn the Arabic language for different reasons, they all need the same thing when it comes to how they learn – consistent exposure to the language and this is the key thing to how to learn Arabic.

There are many ways to accomplish a goal of learning Arabic. While many people would love to move to an Arabic speaking country and learn by total immersion, that is not always practical. If someone has a small budget, but still wants some advice on how to learn Arabic, there are several things they can do.

Some basic vocabulary learning techniques include the use of flashcards, 2-column notes, 3-column notes, and sticky notes. There are many ways to use flashcards when one wants to know how to learn Arabic, but the most basic includes writing the native language word on one side and the Arabic word on the other. You may decide to add the script for Arabic underneath or above the phonetic pronunciation – this will aid you further on how to learn Arabic.

1. Two-column notes work similarly to flash cards. In one column, write the native language word and then write its Arabic counterpart in the opposite column. Then, you may cover one side and try to remember what the Arabic word is in the opposite column. If memorizing the written script is important in learning Arabic, then you may also consider using three-column notes in which the third column includes the Arabic script.

2. Sticky notes are a popular method when it comes to how to learn Arabic. All you need is an Arabic-English dictionary, a pen, and sticky notes. The idea is simply to stick the Arabic words all over ones house, labeling common objects and memorizing the Arabic words just by repeatedly seeing them everywhere.

3. Just knowing the Arabic vocabulary is not sufficient though to communicate in Arabic. When working out a schedule or process for how to learn Arabic, you should seek out native Arabic speakers so they can practice. Watching Arabic television and reading Arabic children’s books are also excellent ways to reinforce your learning on how to learn Arabic.

4. To find a native Arabic speaker without traveling around the world, consider using social networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter, and Meet-up. People from Arabic speaking countries might be willing to help you learn Arabic in exchange for English language practice.

5. If you cannot find anyone to help you with how to learn Arabic, then watching Arabic language television and movies might be the next best thing. There are many choices available on the internet just by typing “Arabic TV” or “Arabic movies” into a search engine.Finally, if learning how to read Arabic is important, you may read Arabic books, starting with selections for children that are often simpler and then moving on to more difficult texts as needed.
